Storm Front

A while back in my old blog my friend Terry asked what my then new fish-eye lens would do with interesting cloud formations. And as you all can imagine then next few weeks had either blue skies with nary a cloud, skies so overcast that they were dull gray from horizon to horizon, or worse I was at work without my camera when the fabulous cloud formation came by yesterday with a thunderstorm. Tonight broke that streak and even though this storm didn't do much other than drop a few raindrops I did get a few good shots. This was as the clouds were moving in from the west right about 18:30.

That is kind of a cool effect. The clouds get that wrap-around look a lot more than normal object. I am guessing this is because they are much further away than the usual earth bound objects.

Very nice! I just found your site through Terry's (I'm a co-worker of his). We had a nice looking storm front move through the area yesterday, I managed to snap a handful of good pics of it (check them out on my blog at http://www.billbixler.com/blog ). I like your site and will be checking back regularly!

I must say, I'm jealous of your fisheye lens. I think my next lens is going to be something in the 9-20 mm range...
